Darjeeling – 

  • Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘ An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”.

  • Tiger Hill :- It is 13 kms from Darjeeling and one can see beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga , Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. It is truly a majestic sight.

  • The spectacular landscape unfolds as the 2-foot gauge Darjeeling Himalayan railway, opened in 1881, labours at about 10 mph criss-crossing the road. It has tiny 4-wheel locomotives (some over 100 years old) like living legends. One can experience the sound, smell and romance of a bygone era. DHR is a work of genius and technological achievement of 1881. It has social and cultural importance. It is beautiful and has outstanding universal appeal. Based on its unique features, it is considered to be of lasting significance to mankind.
  • Ghoom Monastery:- This is oldest Monastery in the area which was built in 1875 and one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height.
  • Afternoons proceed for city tour.
  • Himalayan Mountaineering Institute/Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park:- (Closed on Thursdays)
  • The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was started in Darjeeling when Tenzing Norgay climbed Everest to give training  to learn Mountaineering and other adventure sports related to mountaineering and in that Institute one can see equipment etc.used by Mr. Tenzing Norgay and Everest Museum having complete details on Everest attached to institute one can  visit Himalayan Zoological Park where one can see Himalayan animals like Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, Tibetan Yak, Himalayan Black Bear and several varieties of birds.
  • Tibetan Self- Help Centre Or Refugee Centre:-  (Closed on Sundays) This institute is run by Tibetan Refugees to preserve their handicrafts and one can see making of Tibetan Carpets, Leather work, Paintings and Wooden work etc.

  • Mirik Lake
  • It is newly started hill station in West Bengal and situated 48 kms west of Darjeeling near Nepal border with a facility of boating at Mirik lake which is 1.25 kms long, it is a semi-artificial lake.  Drive from Darjeeling to Mirik is via natural forest & tea garden. The main tourist area, Krishna-Nagar, is south of the lake. A 10 minute walk takes you to Bokar Gompa, home to Mahayana monks. One can catch the sunrise and sunset from Rameetay Dara.

  • After breakfast visit the charming weaver home at Sualkcuhiwhich was established around 17th century the great Ahom administrator Momai Tamuli Barbura. Initially, the village had several cottages industries like oil processing, pottery, gold making etc. other than weaving but eventually, silk weaving became the primary profession of the dwellers.
  • Once you step into the tiny streets you are welcomed by the rhythmic sound of the looms and shuttles, and to see the men and women working together is entrancing too. Predominately, the weaver’s work on two indigenous – the Muga Silk naturally golden in color and very well known for its durability and becomes smoother and glossier with every wash. Eri Silk also known ‘Ahimsa Silk’ as production allows the development of the pupae into adults and then the open – ended cocoon is utilized for silk manufacturing. This silk because of its natural warmth and softness is ideal for shawls etc.
  • Later visit Hajo- the pilgrimage center also known as Panchatirtha (Madhav Mandir, Powa Mucca, Ashwaklanta temple etc.). In Hajo one can visit three different faiths, Hindu, Muslim & Buddhism.

  • Morning after breakfast proceed to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Later proceed for jeep safari in Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary and witness the diversified flora and fauna of this region. Pobitora wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Morigaon district of Assam. Covering an area of 38.8 sw.km, the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the border of Nagaon and Kamrup District. Pobitora is famous for its great Indian one horned Rhinoceros, Asiatic Buffalo, Leapord, Wild Bear, etrc. It is also home to migratory birds and reptiles.

  • After arrival visited Red Fort Rouge: it had an essentially military function, then it was partially transformed into a palace. To visit the Saman Burj: tower from the top of which you can see the Taj Mahal. Behind these walls, it is a real city within the city, which you will discover.
  • Later visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), a bright white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz. The Tag Mahal is undoubtedly the most famous monument in India. It is, it is said, the seventh wonder of the world and the most famous monument of India. Built in a garden on the banks of the Yamuna, this marvellous monument with its marquetry of semi-precious stones inlaid in white marble celebrates the memory of a woman and immortalizes the love that the emperor had for her.

Important

Darjeeling: –

  • Tiger Hill in Darjeeling cannot be guaranteed at the time of sunrise as there is a limitation on the total number of vehicles permitted to visit every day, in case the visit cannot be done early in the morning, the point will be visited anytime during the day.
  • For Tiger Hill visit coupons must be obtained one day earlier from the traffic. As per the latest guidelines once coupon is obtained if for any reason tourists decide not to visit Tiger Hill, the coupon must be returned to the traffic within 1000 hrs along with a note signed by the guest mentioning the reason why they decided not to visit. Due to this many times drivers get delayed reporting for sightseeing, if this is not done by the drivers they are blacklisted from visiting Tiger Hill for 30 days.
  • Visit to Ghoom Monastery cannot be done while returning from Tiger Hill due to new traffic regulations, this visit can be done during the day tour.
  • Tickets for Toy Train can be purchased 60 days prior to date of travel as per railway guidelines, we would require full name, age and gender of all pax to procure the same.

Northeast: –

  • The road conditions in the Assam are not very good especially in remote areas. Even in the other areas some maintenance work is likely at any time of the year.
  • All national parks/ Wildlife Sanctuary remain close for visitors from 1st May till 30th October as per forest department rules.
  • Certain services like Elephant Ride in Wildlife Reserves / National Parks would be confirmed in advance but the final confirmation and go ahead is received from the forest department only one day prior and this may be cancelled even at the last minute due to various factors like weather and excessive rainfall, VVIP Movement, Animal Census. If the particular experience is not provided due to any of these factors the charges for the same will be refunded.
  • We will provide exclusive jeep safari. But elephant safari is not available on exclusive basis. Maximum 4 persons can accommodate in elephant seat, so if you book for 2 guest, other 2 guest will/may share the elephant.
  • Elephant Ride in Kaziranga is conducted by the forest department in the two morning shifts. One Shift is 05:00 AM to 06:00 AM and the other shift is 06:00 AM to 07:00 AM. Elephant ride for foreigners only in Central range (Kohora).
  • The jeep safari is conducted by the forest department in two different shifts. Morning Jeep Safari timing is between 07:00 AM to 09:30 AM. Afternoon Jeep safari timing is between 01:00 PM to 03 : 00 PM. Duration of safari will be maximum 2 hours. Jeep safari available in four range, i.e. 1. Kohora (Central) Range, 2. Bagori (Western) Range, 3. Agaratoli (Eastern) Range and 4. Burapahar (Ghorakati) Range
  • Our rates have been calculated based on the hotels mentioned above based on availability. In the event that some hotels are not available, we will offer you similar accommodation at the same rate or with a discount/supplement depending on the case we apply to you.
  • Our offer is based on the use of Standard rooms at the mentioned hotels (unless otherwise stated); in the event that this room category is not available, we will then book you in the Superior category and notify you of any additional charge at the time of confirmation.
